FISHKILL – The AMD semiconductor manufacturer has established a research and design center in the Westgate Business Park in the Village of Fishkill. The California-based company has also set up a second facility in Monroe County.

The company has committed to creating up to 165 new jobs by 2024.

The new facilities will focus on the design and validation of mixed-signal integrated circuits and packaging for processors that are used in cloud computing, data centers, gaming, and PCs.

Both centers are fully operational already.

Ron Hicks, deputy Dutchess County Executive for Economic Development, said this continues the growth of the high-tech center in the county.

“This is very good news and comes on the heels of on-Semiconductors, investments in East Fishkill and IBM’s investment in quantum computing in Poughkeepsie,” he said. “It’s great to see that this industry is continuing to grow in Dutchess County and for our entire region.”

State Senator Rob Rolison (R, Poughkeepsie) and Assemblyman Anil Beephan, Jr., (R, East Fishkill) praised AMD for located in Dutchess.

Rolison said the company’s decision to invest additional resources in the Hudson Valley and grow high-tech jobs “is a testament to our region’s educated workforce and strong investment climate.”

Beephan said AMD’s location in Fishkill continues to position the Hudson Valley “as a hub for innovation and advancement.”
