SOMERS – State Police say a doctor shot her baby to death and then turned the gun on herself at their Town of Somers home.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, Dr. Krystal Cascetta, 40, entered her child’s room, shot her baby to death, and then killed herself.
The scene is consistent with a murder/suicide, police said.
Cascetta was a renowned oncologist at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City.
