GOSHEN – As Ulster County begins to develop plans for its new emergency services center in New Paltz, County Executive Jen Metzger got a firsthand look at Orange County’s high-tech center in Goshen.

Orange Executive Steven Neuhaus and Commissioner of Emergency Services Brendan Casey gave Metzger a detailed tour of their facilities.

Metzger said seeing Orange County’s operation was “informative for me in our design and planning of a new emergency operations center for Ulster County, and we were very impressed with Orange County’s facility.”

Neuhaus told his fellow county executive that the Orange County center “was designed to bring together representatives from numerous agencies and organizations during any time of emergency to keep residents informed and safe.”
