Alleged drug dealer apprehended by Dutchess Drug Task Force

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force has arrested a 65-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie man on a charge of criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell.

On Wednesday, July 26, the task force, with assistance from the Town and City of Poughkeepsie Police, executed a search warrant at the Lakeview Arms Apartments home of Jerry Dixon and seized numerous controlled substances, including illegal prescription drugs.

Detective Sergeant Adam Harris said “Our Dutchess County Drug Task Force agents are striving to put drug dealers out of business in an effort to protect the residents of Dutchess County.”

Dixon was arrested and later released by the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and ordered to reappear next month.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Hyde Park Police, East Fishkill Police, along with the Cities of Beacon and Poughkeepsie police departments.
