MID-HUDSON- The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the region from midnight Saturday through Sunday with more heavy rain forecasted in the area.

Two to three inches of rain is expected in parts of Mid-Hudson Region, with locally higher totals of up to five inches.  These heavy rains could cause additional flash flooding in areas that have already been impacted by flooding.

In anticipation of even more rain in the area, Governor Kathy Hochul is urging New Yorkers to monitor their local forecast for the latest weather conditions and to sign up for emergency alerts.

“Communities across New York were devastated by heavy rains and flooding over the last week, and we’re continuing to stay vigilant for more weather impacts this weekend,” said Hochul.  “My team is closely monitoring the forecast and we stand ready to assist our local government partners in the event of additional flash flooding.”
