YORKTOWN- The Hudson Gateway REALTOR Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS, recently presented a check for $2,500 to the Alliance for Safe Kids (ASK).

Founded in 2002 by members of the Yorktown community, ASK is a coalition representing all sectors of the community working together to provide a safety net for youth and families.  ASK’s mission is to connect the community to important resources that support youth mental health, substance use prevention, treatment and recovery; and opportunities for thoughtful service.

As the fiscal sponsor for Drug Crisis in Our Backyard (DCIOB), ASK supports their mission to bring awareness of the rampant abuse of prescription and illegal drugs in our community; bring recognition that substance misuse is a chronic disease; and assist individuals and their families who are struggling with the effects of substance use in a friend or loved one.

“Both the Alliance for Safe Kids and Drug Crisis in Our Backyard are so grateful to the Hudson Gateway REALTOR Foundation for their very generous donation.  These funds will not only support the ongoing connections between the community and potentially lifesaving resources, but will allow for important programs to continue,” said Liz Talbert, Executive Director, Alliance for Safe Kids.

Those programs include the Prescription Drug Disposal Unit, Naloxone Training and Spotlight Family Support Groups.

Since 2014, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and non-profits throughout Hudson Valley.  As concerned members of the communities we work in, the Hudson Gateway REALTOR Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities who serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness, and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
