MOUNT KISCO – A Wednesday afternoon head-on collision on Lake Road in Mount Kisco has sent one minor to Northern Westchester Hospital in traumatic arrest and several other critical patients to Westchester Medical Center.  Nine patients were transported to the hospital and Lake Road was closed between Croton Lake Road and Crow Hill Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. to allow first responders to work at the scene.

An occupant of one of the vehicles was trapped in a vehicle that caught fire.  Police on the scene were able to extinguish the flames but the fire department was needed to extricate the victim.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that five of the patients are under the age of 18.

Multiple ambulances from various departments responded to the scene to assist the injured.
