SAUGERTIES – A West Camp woman was arrested by Saugerties Police on Tuesday, April 4 on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child for smoking a joint while driving and sharing it with three of the four kids in the car with her. They were 12 and 13 years old.
The entire incident involving Kayla Walls, 39, was recorded on video showing her smoking pot as she was driving and then passing it to the juveniles.
They were also seen smoking it on the video.
The incident occurred on March 25, and Walls was taken into custody Tuesday evening.
She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to town court.
The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are pending against Walls, police said.
