KINGSTON – The family of Silvano Garcia, the Kingston man killed on March 10 by a CSX freight train in Kingston, has established a GoFundMe account in an effort to raise funds needed to return his body to his homeland in Mexico for burial.

The 39-year-old Garcia “worked a basic minimum wage job; most of his income went to his daily life expenses and whatever remaining was used to help support his family back in Mexico,” his sister-in-law, Rhonda Garcia, wrote.

“Silvano was a great guy who biked everywhere in Kingston and would always be there to help when you needed him,” she said. “He was a hard worker and spent what little free time he had with us, his family, here. He had a huge heart.”
