PAWLING – Police have released the identity of a former teacher charged with sexual conduct with a child.

Angela Hill, a 23-year-old Pawling resident, has been arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into inappropriate sexual conduct with a juvenile student at the Pawling Middle School, where Hill served as a substitute teacher.  Hill has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse.

Hill is accused of having sexual conduct with the juvenile student on the school grounds.  She was arrested by detectives on March 2, 2023.

The original Mid-Hudson News account of the incident can be found here.

The Sheriff’s Office began the investigation on February 16th after the Pawling Central School District superintendent alerted them to an issue.  At that time, District Superintendent Kim Fontana placed the teacher on administrative leave, eliminating the teacher’s access to the campus and students. Hill is no longer employed by the district.

After being processed on the charges, Hill was released and is due to appear before the Town of Pawling Court in March.
