HYDE PARK – A tractor-trailer carrying scrap metal rolled over in the vicinity of 521 Creek Road on Wednesday morning, causing the road to be closed between Route 9G and East Dorsey Lane for several hours.  The Roosevelt Fire Department responded to the incident that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders found the tractor-trailer blocking the road.  According to Roosevelt Fire Chief Jeff Scala, the trailer part of the unit had overturned and came to rest against a telephone pole.  The trailer spilled the scrap metal being hauled, blocking the entire road.

The driver was uninjured but was evaluated by EMS before being released from the scene.

The cleanup and removal of the commercial vehicle and the spilled load were performed by Brandl’s Towing.  Creek Road was closed until approximately 1:38 p.m.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police Commercial Enforcement Division in conducting an investigation.
