NEW ROCHELLE – A Friday night shooting on Main Street resulted in one person sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and a 13th-floor apartment window being struck by a bullet half a mile away and in the direct line of sight of the Main Street crime scene.  No arrests were made and the suspect fled eastbound on Main Street in a dark-colored vehicle.

New Rochelle police received multiple reports of gunfire in the vicinity of 371 Main Street on February 24th at approximately 9:27 p.m. Responding officers located one victim with a gunshot wound.  Additional officers responded to the 360 Huguenot Street apartment where the bullet had pierced the window.

Detectives processed both crime scenes, recovering multiple shell casings at the Main Street scene and detectives developed leads that may aid in the investigation.

According to the police, preliminary accounts indicate that there was a dispute between two parties moments before the shooting.  The police did not indicate if the victim was involved in the original dispute.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the New Rochelle Police Department at 914-654-2300.
