Local governments across the country are encouraging the switch to electric leaf blowers like the one pictured above.

VILLAGE OF NYACK – The use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the Village of Nyack is prohibited during the summer months in 2023 in advance of being banned completely in 2024.  This spring, the leaf blowers can be used from March 15, 2023, to May 15, 2023.  The use of the tool will also be permitted from September 15, 2023, to December 15, 2023.

During the permitted time frames, the leaf blowers can only be used between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays and legal holidays.

The use of gas-powered leaf blowers will be prohibited in the Village of Nyack after January 1, 2024.

Electric and battery-powered leaf blowers are exempt from the date restrictions but users must comply with the hours of operation set forth in the law.
