KINGSTON – A New Rochelle man has been convicted in Ulster County Court of two counts of criminal contempt.

Enri Gjinaj, 34, faces up to eight years in state prison when sentenced.

The conviction stems from an incident on June 8, 2022 during which Gjinaj violated a full stay-away order of protection issued by Larchmont Village Court for the safety of the victim and her 10-year-old daughter.

Gjinaj traveled from Westchester to Kingston where he assaulted the victim in her apartment in a room adjacent to the daughter’s locked bedroom.

The child called 911 and Kingston Police responded, arresting Gjinaj in a stairwell adjacent to the victim’s apartment.
