KINGSTON – The Kingston Common Council and the city’s ethics board have announced the formation of the Ethics Code Review Advisory Committee.

Last year, the ethics board requested the Laws & Rules Committee to thoroughly review the city’s ethics code.

In a collaboration between the two bodies, an advisory committee was suggested to do the best work on such a significant and essential task for the city. The advisory committee will be tasked to research and present suggestions that will then be forwarded to the Ethics Board, Laws & Rules Committee, and the public. The advisory committee will also consider ways to include the public during the process and will suggest ideas for future educational purposes.

The advisory committee members will consist of two council members, two ethic board members, and one member from the Office of Corporation Counsel. The council members will be Council President Andrea Shaut and Alderman Carl Frankel, Ward 2. The Ethic Board members will be Charlotte Adamis and Michael Decker.
