Mount Saint Mary athletes named to conference academic honor roll

NEWBURGH – The Skyline Conference announced its Fall 2022 Academic Honor Roll on Monday with Mount Saint Mary College represented by 49 student-athletes in the sports of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis and Women’s Volleyball.

Christopher Lyn’s women’s soccer program led the way for the Knights with 12 student-athletes landing on the Honor Roll, which requires student-athletes to produce a 3.3 grade point average or better during the Fall term. Kevin Longacre’s Men’s Soccer program picked up 11 selections, highlighted by First Team All-Skyline Conference pick and All-Region selection Matt Wyant of Beacon.

The Women’s Volleyball team saw eight student-athletes represented on the Honor Roll, including First Team All-Skyline Conference honoree Grace Riddle (Wantagh, NY), with Women’s Tennis boasting seven academic standouts led by First Team All-League pick Carly Green (Holbrook, NY).

Men’s Cross Country and Men’s Golf each checked in with four student-athletes recognized with Women’s Cross Country showing three selections to the Honor Roll.

In total, the Skyline Conference honored 577 student-athletes for academic achievement during the Fall Semester.

“It is an honor to recognize these student-athletes, who truly exemplify what the student-athlete experience is all about,” said Commissioner Linda Bruno. “Their ability to excel academically and athletically is a testament to the hard work and dedication they put in.”
