ALBANY – A 41-year-old Kingston man pled guilty in Albany federal court on Thursday to distribution and possession of child pornography.

When sentenced in July, Thomas O’Bryan could face from five to 15 years in prison on each charge, a fine of up to $250,000 and post-release supervision of from five years to life.

O’Bryan admitted that in 2020, he traded child pornography on a social media application using the screenname “irishbstrdinc.” He also admitted that he possessed child pornography in photos and videos portraying sadistic and masochistic conduct, and the sexual abuse and exploitation of toddlers.

The case was investigated by the FBI and its Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes members of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including State Police, Colonie and Rotterdam Police.
