Man dies from injuries suffered during fire

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The 88-year-old man who sustained substantial burns from a fire in his kitchen on Tuesday has died from his wounds.  He was critically injured in a fire on Hooker  Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie on January 17.

Arlington firefighters and Mobile Life personnel triaged him at the scene and transported him to a clearing around the corner on Vassar College grounds where he was transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.  Despite the life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
