Assemblyman Karl Brabenec takes oath of office for fifth term

PORT JERVIS – State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R, Deerpark) was ceremonially sworn in Sunday for a fifth term as assemblyman for the 98th District. He starts the year in conference leadership as the new Minority Whip.

The ceremony was officiated by Deerpark Town Clerk Florence Santini.

“We have a lot of challenges in the term ahead as we work to fight the dysfunction of Albany,” said Brabenec. “We will be fighting for our farmers, law enforcement officials, for lower taxation and less regulation. I’m looking forward to working hard for all of our residents in trying to make our state the Empire State once again.”

Democrats outnumber Republicans in the Assembly by a wide margin.
