Dear Editor:
No library card? Indeed, it is un-American not to be able to have access to a library card in affluent Orange County! As of this writing, the towns of Minisink, Mt. Hope, Greenville, and Wawayanda have access only until January 31, 2023.
Details of previous contracts with the Port Jervis Free Public Library have stalled as they are typically renewed annually. The library referendum was soundly defeated this past fall rendering those of us without a library to call our own.
It is my sincere hope that whatever contract issues that are occurring can be resolved so that those of us who still utilize a library would be able to continue to do so.
