POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jason Mark has been selected to serve as undersheriff by Kirk Imperati, who was elected as Dutchess County Sheriff in November.  Both men will take their oaths of office on January 1, 2023.

Chief Mark has been a member of the sheriff’s office for 31 years, having started with the agency in 1991.  Imperati had previously served as undersheriff to the late Sheriff Butch Anderson who passed away in September of 2021.  Imperati has been serving as acting sheriff since Anderson’s passing.

Chief Mark graduated from the Dutchess County Law Enforcement Academy in December of 1991 and has served in a variety of roles since then. He has served in the patrol division and detective bureau and was named chief deputy of the department in 2017.

Mark, a resident of Dutchess County since 1967 and son of the late Dutchess County Legislator Fran Mark, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office in his new position.
