STEWART AIRPORT – Play Airlines, the popular daily service between New York Stewart International Airport at Newburgh and Iceland, has suspended flights from January 9 through February 16 in the new year.

The reason is seasonal demand is low.  The airline said it will be back later in February flying daily runs between Newburgh and Reykjavik. From there, passengers can take connecting flights to several destinations in the heart of Europe.

For those whose flights were cancelled, they can change the date or receive a refund.

Play is the first and only international carrier to use the new Stewart International Arrivals terminal.

Airline officials have not responded to a request for comment.
