GOSHEN – At thousands of cemeteries across the nation, wreaths where place at the graves of veterans as part of the annual Wreathes Across America campaign during the holiday season.

Several hundred residents attended a ceremony at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen on Saturday.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus, a commander in the Navy Reserves, attended to honor our veterans.

“I have seen and have served with militaries across the world. Nobody takes care of their troops better than the Americans do and it’s reinforced to me every day; I see it all the time and I am so proud to serve this country,” he said.

Neuhaus said there is a “major spike” in suicides, which must be addressed aggressively.
