CASTLE POINT – Congressman Pat Ryan, a West Point graduate and veteran of two combat tours in Iraq, met with fellow vets at the Castle Point VA Medical Center on Friday in honor of the PACT Act Week of Action.

Ryan said the legislation ensures that the up to 3.5 million veterans who were exposed to toxic chemicals can access the health care services they need.

“What just happened with the PACT Act is a massive improvement that rather than make people wait decades, we immediately made these toxic exposures a presumptive condition not only for post-9/11 veterans but look backwards to address an injustice for Vietnam and Gulf War veterans,” he said. “That is something that every veteran should be proud of, every American should be proud of, and I want to commend the VA and the president on that.”

Ryan, himself, signed up for the PACT Act benefits while at Castle Point on Friday.
