Monticello man charged with burglarizing same local business twice

MONTICELLO – A Monticello man being held in the Sullivan County Jail in connection with several ongoing cases already in court, has been charged with burglarizing the same store on two separate occasions.

Monticello Village Police charged Justus McMoore, 37, with two counts of burglary, grand larceny and petit larceny.

He was arrested following two separate burglaries at the Beer World store at 77 Pleasant Street.

On November 4 at 11:15 p.m., he is alleged to have entered the store and stole over $821 worth of items. On November 7 at 9:15 p.m., he allegedly entered the store and stole over $2,826 worth of items.

He was identified by police through the store’s video surveillance system.

McMoore was remanded back to the county jail where he was already being held without bail on other cases.
