POUGHKEEPSIE – The Shamrock Association, a private social club in Poughkeepsie, held its annual pie raffle on Wednesday night, to raise money for Dutchess Outreach, a local non-profit that provides an array of services to those in need.  The successful event raised approximately $2,500 for Dutchess Outreach.

With pies donated to the Shamrock by area businesses and individuals, the social club opened its doors to the public for the festive raffle.  Attendees were given the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets in hopes of having their number called, allowing them to pick a pie of their choice from the nearly 100 available.  In between, songs performed live by Michael LaFalce and Jeffrey Sherban, longtime raffle organizer Brian Laffin enlisted the help of the crowded room to draw the winning tickets.

“Once again, the Shamrock Association came together to provide a night of entertainment to the attendees while also raising money for Dutchess Outreach,” Laffin said. “Our members take great pride in being able to help those in need and that is why we partner with Dutchess Outreach.”

Dutchess Outreach Assistant Executive Director Tara Whalen was at the raffle with several family members.  “The turnout was spectacular and we owe a lot of thanks to the members of the Shamrock Association and their friends for helping us raise vital funding.  This is truly what Thanksgiving is about.”
