Rockland County announces Thanksgiving transit schedules

POMONA – Public transportation systems serving Rockland County are planning schedule changes during the November 24 Thanksgiving holiday. The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation will offer Sunday service on most Transport of Rockland (TOR) bus routes with no service on TOR #94, 95 and 97. The County’s TRIPS paratransit service will offer ADA TRIPS service only. The County’s Transit Information Center will be closed.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23:

  • Metro-North trains will operate a regular weekday schedule, with early getaway service beginning at noon with 10 extra trains on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24:

  • TOR buses will operate Sunday service on routes #59, 91, 92, 93 and Loop 3; No service on TOR #94, 95 and 97. TOR #91 will not serve New City, Yeager Health Center, or Helen Hayes Hospital. Regular service will be provided on TOR Loop 1 and Loop 2.
  • TRIPS paratransit buses will operate ADA TRIPS service only. Regular TRIPS Service will not operate.
    • Clarkstown Mini Trans buses will not operate.
  • Hudson Link buses will operate weekend service.
  • Coach USA Rockland Coaches buses will not operate. Coach USA Shortline Exit 14 Express buses will not operate. Shortline Commuter bus service from Suffern will operate on a weekend schedule.
  • Monsey Trails buses will operate reduced schedules.
  • Metro-North trains will operate a special one-day Thanksgiving schedule on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines.
  • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate.
  • Metro-North’s Port Jervis Line trains will operate a special schedule.
  • NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley and Main/Bergen line trains will operate weekend service.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25:

  • TOR buses will operate regular weekday service.
  • TRIPS paratransit buses will operate ADA TRIPS service only. Regular TRIPS Service will not operate.
  • Hudson Link buses will operate regular service.
  • Coach USA Shortline Exit 14 Express buses will operate limited service departing Rockland at 5:40, 6:30 and 7:20 a.m., plus a departure from Smith Street lot at 6:30 a.m. Evening trips depart midtown at 4:00, 4:30, 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and from Wall Street at 4:30 p.m.
  • Shortline Commuter buses will operate limited morning service departing Suffern at 5:48, 6:37, 7:09, 7:18, 7:44, 8:15 and 8:35 a.m. Evening trips depart NYC at 3:30, 5:15, 5:48, 9:45 and 11:00 p.m.
  • Coach USA Rockland Coaches buses will offer limited service.
  • Clarkstown Mini Trans will offer regular service.
  • Metro-North will operate a special Saturday schedule with some extra trains.
  • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate a modified schedule based on the Metro-North Hudson Line special train schedule.
  • NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley and Main/Bergen line trains will operate weekend service.
  • Metro-North’s Port Jervis Line trains will operate weekend service.
