STONY POINT – A school bus with students returning from a field trip swerved to avoid striking a bus in front of it, sustained minor damage. No students from the Yeshiva Tzoin Yosef school were injured.

State Police said the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Monday when a box truck driving southbound on the Palisades Interstate Parkway struck the exit 16 overpass.

A bus traveling behind the truck braked and rapidly slowed down to avoid a collision. A second bus, traveling behind the first one, swerved to a void hitting it, resulting in the vehicle striking the guiderail.

Students on the damaged bus were transferred to other businesses also returning from the same field trip.
