YONKERS – A 15-year-old boy was shot at least two times in the latest gun violence in the City of Yonkers.

It occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, city police said.

The youth was transported to a local trauma center, suffering from wounds to his lower body, and was listed in stable condition, police said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in front of 290 Woodworth Avenue with several others when a suspect approached, pulled a handgun and fired at least three times in their direction, hitting the victim at least two times, police said. The suspect then fled the scene.

Investigators are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator and determine the motive for the assault.
