ELDRED – Voters in the Eldred Central School District will go to the polls on December 6 to vote on a $11.16 million bond to help pay for upgrades and renovations to George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School and Eldred Junior Senior High School.

District officials said taxes would not be increased because the borrowing for two existing bonds would be paid off in 2025, before the new loans are sought.

Construction is anticipated from 2024 to 2026.

“The improvements are designed to support and expand student’s advancement in literacy, math, science, multimedia and sports,” said Superintendent Traci Ferreira. “They also will further inspire students’ analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, al while enhancing communication, collaboration and innovation.”

Residents may vote from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Eldred Junior Senior High School gymnasium.
