WHITE PLAINS – A father and son from Central Valley were both sentenced in federal court to prison for defrauding their lenders and the IRS.

Mehdi Moslem, 73, was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison and his son, Saaed, was sentenced to eight years behind bars.

From 2009 through 2018, the two men conspired to defraud the government by concealing profits related to their car dealership, Exclusive Motor Sports, and other businesses from the IRS.

To falsely lower their business income, the father and son, among other things, caused their accountant to prepare partnership tax returns that significantly understated the car dealership inventory.

The fraudulent business income figures passed through their personal tax returns, contributing to nearly $1 million in underpayment in federal and state taxes.
