MONTICELLO – The contract between the County of Sullivan and its largest employee union – Teamsters Local 445 – expired on December 31, 2019 and the county legislature’s Human Resources Committee Thursday approved a new five-year pact.

The union rank-and-file has already given thumbs up to the terms of the agreement that will extend from 2020 through 2025.

Workers will receive a two percent increase retroactively in 2020 and 2021 and those who did not receive five percent in the last agreement will receive retroactive increases to January 2022 of two percent plus another two percent.

Effective January 1, 2023 and January 1, 2024, union members will receive each of those years a two percent increase and an additional 1.5 percent to those titles that did not receive five percent in the last agreement.

Effective January 1, 2025, union members will receive a two percent increase in salary.

The committee approved the agreement unanimously. It will now go to the full legislature for its approval.
