Second suspect arrested in Peekskill shooting

PEEKSKILL – A second suspect, an 18-year-old woman, has been arrested in connection with the wounding of two women as they drove at Main Street and Decatur Avenue in the City of Peekskill on Friday, July 29.

The driver was struck by gunfire in the abdomen. The passenger was hit in both legs. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries.

On August 3, the alleged shooter, a 17-year-old man, was arrested by Stamford, Connecticut Police on unrelated charges and is awaiting extradition back to Peekskill.

On Friday, August 5, at about 10:40 a.m., 18-year-old Peekskill resident Shaynna Session was arrested in connection with the shooting.

She was charged with two counts each of attempted murder, attempted assault, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Session was arraigned with bail set at $250,000 bail.

Police did not provide a motive for the shooting.
