Queens man charged with DWI after crash with motorcycle

TOWN OF THOMPSON – A Queens man was charged Saturday evening with driving while intoxicated and making an illegal U-turn following a collision with a motorcycle.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7 p.m. incident on Route 17B at the intersection of Coopers Corners Road.

Deputies found a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Gabrielle Sileo, 22, of Monticello, was traveling westbound on 17B when it collided with a car, which was traveling westbound.

The car, a 2000 Volvo sedan, had entered 17B from Coopers Corners Road and was attempting to make a U-turn in the intersection to go back on that road.

The driver of the Volvo, identified as Matthew Mueller, 31, of Queens, was charged with DWI and making an illegal U-turn.

Mueller was issued an appearance ticket and released.

Sileo was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition. Monticello Fire Department and Mobile Medic responded to the scene.
