GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus has named Kerry Gallagher as the county’s finance commissioner. She has served as deputy commissioner under Karin Hablow, who recently accepted a similar post in Westchester County Government.
Neuhaus said Gallagher “is a consummate professional with a head for numbers and seeing the big picture.” He said she is a “team player who is enthusiastic about leading the finance department and will do a great job.”
Prior to serving in the finance department, she served as deputy commissioner in the county Health Department.
“We are very fortunate to have someone as talented as Kerry to lead the county’s finance department,” said County Legislature Chairwoman Katie Bonelli.
Prior to working in county government for the last six years, Gallagher worked for 13 years in private sector financial management.
Her appointment requires confirmation by the county legislature.
