GOSHEN – The Mamakating Highway Superintendent who also serves as the Chief of the Summitville Fire Department in Sullivan County has been released from jail after being arrested on charges of having sex with a child. The 55-year-old was arrested on May 31st and held in the Orange County Jail until his bond was posted on June 10th.
Robert Hufcut was released from the Orange County Jail on Friday, June 10, 2022, after a $100,000 bond was posted to set him free.
Hufcut has been charged with two felony counts of “course of sexual conduct against a child”.
The charges are allegedly related to sexual misconduct with a child that occurred years ago when Hufcut was a resident of Orange County.
