PORT JERVIS – The Port Jervis Police Department is investigating two incidents that occurred late Thursday evening, May 5, both involving reports of shots fired.

Police Chief William Worden said the first incident was reported as a disturbance involving gunshots fired in the area of Ball and Owen Street in the Fourth Ward, at 10:43 p.m. A second incident was reported at about 11:38 p.m., on Thompson Street in the First Ward. Like the first call, officers responded to a disturbance involving gunshots being fired.

Worden said his agency was assisted by the State Police.  Both agencies worked together throughout the overnight hours and are continuing to investigate.

“We have been actively investigating these incidents, which we believe may be related. No persons were injured by gun fire,” Worden said.
