GOSHEN – A 30-year-old Middletown man has been sentenced to 18 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision for setting a fire at an apartment complex on Concord Lane in Middletown on May 17, 2021.

Larry Hickmon pled guilty to arson this past January.

It was alleged that on May 17, 2021, Hickman assaulted his girlfriend inside their apartment in the city of Middletown and after the woman fled, he started a fire, knowing there were other residents, including children, in the complex.

No one was injured; however, several apartments were destroyed.

“This defendant’s selfish actions could easily have resulted in death or serious physical injury to residents of the apartment building, as well as to first responders,” said District Attorney David Hoovler. “The close to two decades that this defendant will be incarcerated reflects the utter disregard for human life and property that he exhibited.”
