WHITE PLAINS – The State Department of Motor Vehicles has announced it is opening a new modern office in White Plains. The new office will be located at 1 Maple Avenue in White Plains and is expected to open to customers in early fall of this year.
The existing DMV office located within White Plains Mall will be permanently closed at end of business today, March 31.
Until the new office is open, customers are encouraged to visit the website at DMV.NY.GOV to complete their transaction online or to schedule a reservation at a nearby location. To make the transition as easy on the community as possible, the DMV will open a short term, temporary office in Tarrytown, while the new location is being constructed. This temporary office will be open for 60 days beginning on April 4. The DMV will also increase its capacity to serve customers at the nearby Yonkers office and will explore additional temporary locations as needed.
