HUDSON VALLEY – The graduation of 227 candidates of the New York State Police Basic Academy on Wednesday included several new troopers for Troops F and K that operate in the Hudson Valley.
Troop F, headquartered in the Town of Wallkill, covers Greene, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster counties on the west side of the Hudson River.
Troop K, headquartered in Salt Point, covers Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties on the east side of the Hudson River.
The graduates of the academy will report for field training at their respective trooper barracks on March 31. Field training will take approximately 10 weeks under the supervision of a Field Training Officer.
