POUGHKEEPSIE – Mayor Rolison will deliver his State of the City address at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Changepoint Theatre, 260 Mill St., Poughkeepsie. The public is invited to attend. RSVP to Stacey Bottoms at (845) 451-4073 or sbottoms@cityofpoughkeepsie.com.

Mayor Rolison will provide updates on the city’s improving financial condition as well as key initiatives, including increased funding for youth-related activities. He will be joined by Poughkeepsie City School District Superintendent Dr. Eric Rosser, who will offer remarks during the speech.

Mayor Rolison and Dr. Rosser have formed the Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet to create a shared vision and cradle-to-career agenda for child and youth development in the city. They presented to the New York State Board of Regents about the cabinet at the Regents meeting on Feb. 15.

The mayor also will discuss the city’s plans for the American Rescue Plan Act funds and will highlight the city’s role in joining the broader community in the fight against COVID-19.

“This is clearly a pivotal time in the city’s history,” Rolison said. “The pandemic has created unique and complicated challenges, but the city has weathered through the crisis and will emerge much stronger as a result. I look forward to sharing a comprehensive update with the community on March 31.”

The State of the City Address will be carried live on the city’s Facebook page and will also be available for replay on the city’s website, www.cityofpoughkeepsie.com
