NEW ROCHELLE – A 21-year-old New Rochelle man has been arrested on several charges following a traffic stop on Beechwood Avenue in New Rochelle.
City police pulled over a vehicle driven by Shawn Gilchrest. During the step, he took off in the vehicle, but was caught quickly.
The incident began around 10 p.m. on March 2 and he was charged the following day with possession a 9 mm handgun with a 30-round extended magazine as well as parts for a ghost gun.
Specific charges include felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanors of unlawful possession of certain feeding devices, reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer and obstructing governmental administration.
Gilchrest was also charged with reckless driving.
