MIDDLETOWN – The Ukrainian American Youth Association of the Hudson Valley is joining the humanitarian aid efforts for Ukraine while Russia continues its illegal invasion of the country.

At the same time, the president of the regional organization, Peter Kosciolek, was critical of the West’s efforts to protect Ukraine.

“The world is just watching, and please don’t get me wrong, we don’t want to be in World War III, we don’t want to have a nuclear war – nobody wants that, but I think that the steps for deterrents were all a big farce. Nothing deterred this man (Russian President Putin) as we were being told by our government officials and others in the western world,” he said.

The youth organization meanwhile is seeking donations of medical supplies from first aid kits to pain relievers, safety pins, Band-Aids, Pepto-Bismol pills, antibacterial ointment, aspirin, Benadryl, Ace bandages, hydrocortisone cream, and Imodium.

Tax deductible monetary donations, may also be included with all contributions dropped off at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 211 Foordmore Road in Kerhonkson 12446.
