STEWART AIRPORT –Since Frontier Airlines began nonstop service between New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) and Orlando and Miami late last year, the routes have been very popular.

On Thursday, the airline began service to its third city, Fort Lauderdale.

Florida destinations have traditionally been very popular from Stewart since scheduled service began in April 1990.

With the announced merger of Frontier and Spirit Airlines, both popular low-cost airlines, Hudson Valley residents hope additional routes will be added from Stewart in the months to come.
