Goshen man arrested after receiving narcotics in mail

GOSHEN – A 42-year-old Goshen man has been arrested following an investigation into his receipt of shipments of controlled substances in the mail.

A search warrant was executed at the Goshen residence of Muhammad Iftikhar where authorities seized over 50 grams of anabolic steroids and over 20 grams of MDMA.

He was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, as well as criminally using drug paraphernal.

Also arrested at the residence was Maria Younis, 39, of Goshen, who was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Iftikhar was arraigned in Goshen Town Court and released on his own recognizance. Younis was issued an appearance ticket and released.

The investigation was conducted by the State Police Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, Homeland Security Investigations, and the US Postal Inspection Service.
