GOSHEN – Following the convictions of three former Orange County Industrial Development Agency officials in connection with the way they operated the agency, they agreed to pay back a combined total of more than $1.2 million.

The new IDA board wants to explore its options in recouping additional money.

Now, the county legislature’s special committee wants to see if it can assist in that matter, said Legislator Paul Ruszkiewicz, chairman of the special committee.

“It was decided that we would like to have a discussion with the IDA’s attorney to get an update on where they were at with their civil suit,” he said following a meeting of the special committee on Wednesday.

Ruszkiewicz had been a member of a new, interim IDA board, but the county legislature decided to not place one of its members on that board going forward.
