COVID home test kits available on Tuesday, February 1

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County has received a substantial number of COVID test kits from Albany that will be distributed beginning on Tuesday, February 1.  The number of kits available in each town is based upon population.  The Mid-Hudson News explanation regarding distribution is explained HERE.

 

The City of Poughkeepsie, according to Mayor Rob Rolison, will begin distribution of the kits on Tuesday, February 1st.  The 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. distribution on Tuesday is for city residents with proof of residency.

 

The kits will be at the front desk of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department front desk, 62 Civic Center Plaza, and are handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis   The city also will be distributing kits to housing complexes and expects to receive more kits in the near future.

 

In East Fishkill, according to Town Supervisor Nick D’Alessandro, test kits are slated to be distributed to town residents on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m.  Due to demand for the test kits, D’Alessandro said that distribution is being done on a first-come, first-serve basis.  East Fishkill residents will be required to show an ID to verify proof of residency and will be allotted one kit per visit.

 

The Town of Fishkill will distribute test kits on Tuesday, February 1, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Town Hall located at 807 Route 52 in Fishkill.  If town residents are unable to pick up a kit, one can be reserved by email. To reserve a test kit, residents can send an email to socialmedia@fishkill-ny.gov and include their name and address.  Residents that reserve a kit can pick it up on Wednesday, February 2,  from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Town Hall during the Town Board meeting.  Participation in the board meeting is not required.
