Uptick in COVID-19 deaths

MID-HUDSON – There has been an uptick in COVID-19 related deaths in the Hudson Valley late this week as 24 people died in one day on Thursday, the State Health Department reported.

There was a high of nine people succumbing to the disease in Westchester.

In Dutchess and Orange counties there were five deaths each.

In Rockland County, four people died.

In Sullivan County, one person died from COVID-19 on Thursday.

Health officials continue to say the best way to prevent or minimize contracting the virus is to be vaccinated and get your booster shot, and wear a mask in public places.
