EAST FISHKILL – The Wappingers Central School District (WCSD) has closed two of its schools for Friday, January 28, due to a threatening note found on a bus.  John Jay High School and Fishkill Plains Elementary School are both closed on Friday, January 28.

WCSD Superintendent Dr. Dwight Bonk sent the notice out on Thursday evening.  The announcement said in part “I am sending this correspondence to make the entire community aware of a concerning note that was found this evening on a school bus that threatened to harm other students. The note was found on a bus that provides transportation to both John Jay High School and Fishkill Plains Elementary school.”

Bonk said that the two schools would be closed on Friday to allow for the threat to be investigated by district officials and the East Fishkill Police Department.  Once both buildings are safe for the students and staff, the schools will re-open.

“As soon as the investigation is completed, an update will be sent to the entire school community,” Bonk added.
