Cyber tip leads to arrest of Newburgh man for possession child pornography

NEWBURGH – A cyber tip to police led to an investigation resulting in the arrest of a 37-year-old Newburgh man who was charged with two counts of promotion of a sexual performance by a child under the age of 17 and three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child under the age of 18.

The Orange County Child Abuse Unit in conjunction with State Police Montgomery Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Gregory Liston.

The investigation revealed Liston was in possession of child pornography that led to his arrest on Friday, January 21.

He was arraigned in Newburgh City Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, 10 percent of $50,000 partially secured surety bond, or $10,000 insurance bail bond.

He is scheduled to return to court later this month.
